Blue Belts, (L to R):
In June 2005, Richard and I had the opportunity to go out to L.A. and train with Rey Diogo and Shawn Williams in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. Rey Diogo, a Carlson Gracie Black Belt, is an amazing martial artist, who has competed and won in the BJJ Pan Ams, as well as competing in Brazil before moving to L.A. Shawn Williams is an accomplished BJJ competitor, who is featured on the BJJ DVD, Tools of the Trade II. Both instructors were very welcoming and giving of their knowledge.
November 2004, we had the opportunity to train with Jorge Jimenez, who is a black belt under Pedro Sauer. Jorge has been training for 11 years with Professor Sauer.
Helio Gracie is one of the most noted Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu practitioners. Grand Master Helio Gracie has been training for over 70 years, and he is a Grand Master in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. I had the opportunity to train with Grand Master Helio Gracie and two of his grandsons in September 2004. We receive our Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu from Professor Pedro Sauer, 6th degree Black Belt. Pedro earned his black belt under Helio and Rickson Gracie. It was a great opportunity for me to train with Grand Master Helio Gracie and his grandsons at the seminar.
In the fall of 2003, I participated in a seminar at Atlanta Martial Arts Seminar, which is owned by my training partner Sifu Alan Baker. Above is a picture of all the instructors who conducted classes at the seminar. Each instructor has distinguished themselves in the Martial arts community.
