g Why practice yoga?
· Yoga is a gentle yet extremely effective way to strengthen your whole body, while helping you to deal productively with stress.
· People at any level of physical fitness and any level of flexibility can practice yoga.
· Yoga can help you to raise your level of performance in other sports and activities by improving your balance and your ability to focus.
g What can you expect from this class?
· You can expect a class customized to your body. The class is taught with modifications and variations so that you can participate at the level that is right for you.
· You will work your “core” muscles, the area of your body where all movement begins. Strengthening your core will improve your overall body function and body awareness.
· You will learn several breathing and relaxation techniques that can help you to deal with the stresses of your daily life.
g What else do you need to know?
· Classes are 60 minutes long.
· You should wear comfortable clothing that allows you to move. The clothing shouldn’t be overly baggy as this can restrict your expression of some postures.
· Bring a yoga mat if you have one (we will have some mats available for your use).
· Classes are taught by Neelam Sharma, a certified Pranakriya Yoga instructor.
· Cost: 6 classes for $70; Drop-in Class $15.
